This week our school kicked off a month long reading celebration. It's starting with "Battle of the Books" a sports bracket style competition to determine what the favorite book is at FMS. Our class is helping to organize the event by creating posters to decorate our hallways and teaching younger students how to cast their vote online. As results start coming in our class will also analyze data to determine which books come out on top. Here are our student brackets and a giant bracket we made for the cafeteria: Online Reading Logs We are going to begin using the website Reading-Rewards.com for our reading logs. (Students who were in my class in second grade may remember this) Today we all went into the computer lab and logged in to set up our accounts. Students are also coming today home with details instructions on how to log their reading. It is expected that students in 4th grade read 30 minutes each night and it only takes a couple of minutes to go to the site and log your reading. Once your child logs reading time you will receive an email asking you to validate their reading (did they read or not). Their minutes don't count until you validate them! Click on the button below to log your reading and be on the lookout for the handout below in your child's backpack! If you have any questions please email me! - Mrs. D
